The Board of Directors of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) is praising the American Numismatic Association for making significant progress in resolving the association’s cash problems, and urging ANA members to “Vote Wisely” when considering the qualifications of candidates running in this year’s elections.

Coinworks has just sold the Australian Proof 1923 Halfpenny for a world record price of $500,000. The only proof example of Australia’s rarest halfpenny available to collectors, the iconic copper was quickly snapped up by a prominent Sydney family. They are also offering the Le Souef Specimen of The 1930 Australian penny, considered the best of the proofs and one that was originally handpicked by the mint’s deputy master, A M Le Souef, for his private collection.
